This is DEMO 3 of the upcoming adventure Mirage Castle.

This demo features 6 playable levels showcasing core platforming mechanics — including various types of platforms, hazards, and control elements.

Instead of a plot, I’ve included developer notes where I talk about level design choices, game design ideas, known facts, and personal thoughts.

After releasing my first free metroidvania-adventure-platformer

The Trader, Death and You

 I decided to revisit and refine some core mechanics.

As part of that process, I’m creating a series of demos on this account before moving forward with the sequel — Mirage Castle.

This is the third demo.

In this one, I deliberately kept animations and effects to a minimum and added a trail behind the character to make certain mechanics — like Coyote Time — easier to notice.

its possible to fall out of the screen and  get soft locked on level 4 top right of the level 

Thanks for pointing that out! I tried looking for it, but couldn’t find it — would you mind letting me know where exactly it is and how to get there?

its just after the checkpoint in the very top right of the level - you drop down onto a diagonal moving platform (that has the blue triggers on it )

if you then jump off to the left you fall through a piece of black background and disappear off the bottom of the screen ... i found it when searching for coins !
